Our Core Issues
- Repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT)—CHECK!—and ensure that LGBT military members may serve with dignity
- Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), so that every marriage in every state has the same federal rights
- Pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), to prevent workplace discrimination
- Stand in solidarity against violence and hate in our communities
- Reform immigration laws to recognize same-sex couples and end the needless separation of families
- Protect the rights of LGBT parents to adopt children and build strong families
How We Work
Swish mobilizes the LGBT communities and straight allies in partnership through 4 core initiatives:
- Swish Pride - participation in local and global pride events
- Give A Swish - community service and volunteering with LGBT organizations in their day to day work, on advocacy campaigns, and as leaders on Boards of Directors
- Swish Nights OUT - our local, monthly events that educate, activate, and recruit new and current members
- Swish Voices - empowering and growing our online community of allies through social networking activism, public service ad campaigns, action alerts, opinion pieces, and highlighting the work of our members around the world with our monthly #ISwishBecause Twitter campaign.
