MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INTERN - May/June 2013 Start Date!

Swish is currently seeking applicants for a Membership Development Internship with a minimum commitment of 6 months to help us reach realize the goals of our strategic plan, and help grow our membership in more markets, to more diverse audiences.

The position provides support for all facets of the organization’s operations and programs through a consistent set of tasks that keep all stakeholders and constituencies organized, informed, efficient and in action.

This position is accountable for managing social networking communications, web and blog content updates, board meetings and communications, member/donor relations, event coordination, and general administration.

Ideal applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Docs, WordPress, as well as familiar and comfortable with most social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Training will be provided on the Web content management system (Big Medium), our CRM and e-communications system (BSD Tools). And most importantly, ideal candidates want to make a difference in the LGBT rights movement using their skills and talents!

This 16-hour a week position offers a stipend as well as travel reimbursement and in-office meals, and abundant networking opportunities within the LGBT and non-profit communities. Course credit is also negotiable, as well as telecommuting. It is ideal for juniors, seniors, recent grads, or grad students who are pursuing careers in the non-profit/public sector and are interested in social media, communications, marketing, program development, and/or fundraising.

PRO BONO DIGITAL MEDIA CONSULTANT - Immediate Start Date!

Swish is currently seeking applicants for a Digital Media Internship with a minimum commitment of 6 months to help us reach realize the goals of our strategic plan, and nurture and acknowledge its current members through organizational communications and social media.
 
The digital media intern is accountable for:

• developing strategy for and managing YouTube, Vimeo and other video-based social media channels to tell the Swish story
• creating new and managing archival media content
• producing and editing short fundraising and advocacy videos
• coordinating video and photography recording of all organizational events, and recruiting additional volunteer support and acquire necessary equipment, as dictated by the scope of the event (Swish currently has access to two HD video cameras.)
• migration of www.swishpride.org and Swish Voices blog to WordPress 

  This 8-10 hour a month position is not paid, however the consultant will be reimbursed for travel to and from event venues, as well as meals.  This position provides abundant networking opportunities within the LGBT and non-profit communities. Course credit for students is also negotiable, as well as telecommuting.  It is ideal for junior, seniors, recent grads, or grad students who are pursuing careers in social media, film, photography, marketing, or digital communications.  Ideal applicants will have experience in still photography, video production, editing (Final Cut Pro/Avid/iMovie or experience with other editing software preferred) and web development.  And most importantly, ideal candidate want to make a difference int he LGBT rights movement using their skills and talents.
